Tape It App Integrations

Tape It

Tape It is a songwriting and audio recording app which allows you to record, organise and share your song ideas in an efficient way.

Our brief for this client was to create a concept for reactions and interactions between members in the app for their new mixtape function, whilst finding a good level of emotions in a digital space and keeping real people and human behaviour at the core of the concept.

The mixtape function is a space within the app where people could share their recordings. In order to create a space where they would communicate we were faced with questions such as:

How do we make people connect without creating a disruption within their creative process?

How do we create interactions without making it a social network?

and,

Why and what do the users want to communicate?

Our design solutions for these problem statements were a comment and thread function at the bottom of each mixtape where collaborators could add markers, easy sharing options for when they wanted to communicate outside of the app, the possibility to add a description at the top and availability for a marker which would tell each user exactly what they were commenting on.

We also added the possibility to reply with a voice message, since that’s something we found from quantitative studies that people sharing audio files often wanted to do.

This was a Hyper Island brief in collaboration with Agnes Oldefors, Hameem Sarwar, Karin Nilsson, Mai Nguyen and Nika Johnsson.
